Tower Lanes Review: Bowling Alley, Indoor Mini Golf, Restaurant and Arcade

Tower Lanes bowling alley, indoor mini golf, restaurant, and arcade is open 24 hours, has complimentary wireless internet available, rolling thunder bowling on weekends, leagues and a pro shop.

We recently spent Family Day at Tower Lanes in Tacoma, Washington. Tower Lanes has a huge bowling alley, a spectacular indoor mini golf course, a hopping arcade complete with pool tables, and a restaurant. They even provide complimentary wireless internet to their patrons. The entire facility is open 24 hours a day.

We chose to participate in their mini golf and arcade areas.

We thought we'd go into the mini golf area before purchasing our game, to check it out. We were astonished by the size of area that they dedicated to the mini golf. This is not just some thrown together course, but a full fledged course that includes water traps, fountains, a huge waterfall that you can walk behind, bridges, and fake sand areas. The course is well lit and has tables along the way to make it easier to write down scores. They even provide the score sheets and pencils.

I was impressed with the scenery, but I wondered if they had compromised on the challenge of the course in their attempt to attract people to it. No way, this course was one of the most challenging courses I've ever been on. Some of the holes seemed so easy that we thought for sure it was an easy hole-in-one, just to be fouled up by a bump they placed in the green along the way to throw you off track.

This mini golf course was by far the most enjoyable course I've ever played on, we spent most of the time laughing and we truly enjoying ourselves. I would definitely recommend it to anyone, child or adult. My 9 year old son has only played mini golf a few times, but managed to get the only hole-in-one in the entire game we played.

The cost was reasonable, and the three of us enjoyed our game for a total of only $16.

The next area we explored was the arcade and pool tables. We decided to start with pool. The three pool tables are conveniently located in the midst of the arcade games, but far enough away from the games and other tables to not cause any distractions or mishaps at all.

The pool sticks are conveniently located by the pool tables, but it is necessary to bring your ID or drivers license to the front counter for the balls. I love how they do this because it keeps the equipment in great condition, and I don't have to deal with any damaged or missing pieces. The cost for each game is only $0.75 and you put the change right into coin slot on the machine to release the balls you've sunk. Turn the balls back in and you get your ID or drivers license back. There is also a change machine right by the tables for easy accessibility.

All of our interactions with Tower Lanes staff were pleasant and professional. The counters and floor were clean and well taken care of, and the restroom was not only clean and good smelling, but also well stocked, with all of the restroom equipment in good working order. What impressed me the most was that the water that came out of the faucet in the restroom was hot! This is the first establishment of this kind that I have been in that had better then cold water for hand washing. My family will definitely be going there again in the future.
