Review: Food Pride Potato Wedges
Read why I go out of my way to buy these potato wedges.
Since the chicken obviously wasn't going to be enough for us, I also needed to pick up some side dishes. And, again because I didn't want to go through a whole lot of effort cooking, I ended up buying some Food Pride Potato Wedges.
To tell you the truth, the potato wedges were the whole reason why I picked the store I shopped at rather than going to Piggly Wiggly, which was closer to our house and had their chicken on sale for a cheaper price. We have purchased a wide variety of potato wedges ranging from deli made to frozen and found both our kids enjoy the Food Pride version the best. And, I have to agree with them.
On e of the things I like about these potato wedges is the flavor. The ones at our local Piggly Wiggly deli, to give you a comparison, have too much on them in terms of spices and, as a result, just aren't as good. And, some of the other brands that were available in this store's freezer section tend to be a bit on the bland side. The Food Pride wedges had just the right amount of seasoning on them. And, as a result of this, our kids ate many more than they would have if I would have bought another variety.
I should also mention these wedges also were moist on the inside and not dried out like many others. This even included the smaller pieces; which usually get overcooked and overly crisp.
I also can't complain about the price. There are cheaper varieties out there. But, this one is still under $4 for roughly a pound of potato wedges. And, given the higher quality, I'm OK with spending a little bit more on them.
Because of these things, I do intend to continue buying the Food Pride Potato Wedges and don't anticipate trying a new brand any time in the near future.
