How to Choose a Paintball Marker
This is a lot of help!
Skill Level
What is your skill level? Are you a novice, starting a tournament career, playing tournaments or only play on certain occasions?
If you thought Novice think about these guns: Smart Parts Ion, Diablo Wrath, Invert Mini, Indian Creek Promaster, Dangerous Power Fusion and Proto Matrix Rail. These guns are easily maintained, fire reasonably fast, and are very cheap ranging from 200-400 American Dollars. Also all of these guns can be found cheaper used on sites such as, Pbnation and Ebay.
Starting a tournament reign with you team? I would go with: Proto Matrix 6, Bob Long Alias Intimidator or Older (e.g. Texas Storm, Species Alien, or Ground Zero (GZ)), Dye Matrix 5, Older WDP Angels such as Speeds or IR3s, Smarts Parts SFT Shockers with Vision, Infinity Legend, and the First Endeavor Paintball Quest. All of these markers are ranged new from 500 to 800 new and as low as two hundred fifty dollars used on the previously listed sites. These guns require a little bit more maintenance, but will perform with amazing results and all can be used flawlessly in the correct hand.
If you are a tournament player I suggest the following markers: Angel One, Dye Matrix Six, Dye Matrix Seven, Ego 6, Ego 7, SL66 Ego (XSV or Bushwackers), Dark Ego, Empire Two Intimidator, Bob Long Infamous Intimidator, Bob Long Marq6 or Seven or Rapper, Smart Parts NXT Shocker (Naughty Dogs, Russian Legion, Evil or Stock), or 2020 or 2020 Cyborg by Macdev Paintball. All the guns are 1000+ new; however, can be found for as low as eight hundred twenty-five dollars on some internet sites or auctions. These markers are touchy, but provide lightest setup and highest performance. I recommend these for that competitive edge.
Only Play Paintball On certain days and are not as into it as others? Take a look: Almost all Spyders by Kingman (Pilot, VS2, VS3, Victor, Sonic, Sonix, or Victor II), Tippmann 98 Custom and 98 Custom Pro, Tippmann A-5 and A-5 Pro, and all of the new BT paintball guns. All these guns are easy to play with and can shoot in any weather and rarely need to even be touch any time except play. Also all of these markers are cheap as low as 100 new and you maybe able to get used one for as low as 30 dollars. Now that's an amazing deal!
Markers to Avoid!
These markers are trouble. Bad customer service, breaking, or just plain bad markers are in this part. Do not buy any of these guns in your life: System X NME and NME LE, B2k, B2K2, BKO, Evil Omen, Evil Pimp, and definitely not the rebel or enforcer let alone anything at all by 32 degrees. These markers will give you a hard time or just stink. Avoid them at all cost and follow guide.
Note: Autocockers are great guns also I just have not had much time to experience them so I did not want to mislead readers. I have has some experience with Super Stocks which I think are great markers; however, I would avoid the trilogy series all together.
Double Note: I have much experience, but only you can choose the marker for yourself. Make sure you consider weight, size, cost, efficiency, and personal preference.
