The Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park, near downtown Napa amp; the Napa Valley College is the oldest public course in the Napa Valley. Years ago, when the Kaiser Tournament was held at Silverado Country Club, many of the pro golfers played the Napa Golf Course for practice prior to the start of the tournament as they felt that the practice rounds at Napa Golf Course were a great help in playing the Kaiser Open at Silverado. Featuring 4 Tee boxes, this 18 hole par 72 course is challenging for all levels of golfer. Carts are available, but the course is easily walked. Green fees are extremely reasonable with a discount for seniors over 60 years of age. The web site features a virtual tour of the course narrated by John Abendroth, a teaching professional since 1975 and Mitch Juricich, creator amp; co-host of the "Hooked on Golf" radio show. A stocked golf shop amp; practice range are available as well as, Jack's Grill, named after John F Kennedy. The grill offers great breakfast amp; lunch foods that can be enjoyed on the massive redwood deck or in the adjacent dining room. An old fashioned bar is open until 6:30 PM for those "after the game" discussions. Reservations can be made on line or by calling (707) 255 4333.
Head a few miles North of Napa in the town of Yountville to The Vinter's Golf Club, which is located on the grounds of the California Veterans Home. The nine hole, par 68 championship course opened in 1999. The rates are extremely reasonable depending on the day and time of play. Carts are available, but the course is a dream to walk. The Lakeside Grill, located inside the pro shop, is a great restaurant. Its open for lunch during the week adding breakfast on the weekends. The menu is excellent and the food is delicious. It's a great place to dine whether you are golfing or just want to enjoy a tasty meal on the patio while viewing the course the veterans home and mountains beyond.
South of Napa, in the small town of American Canyon, you will find the Chardonnay Golf Club and Eagle Vine Vineyards and Golf Club

Eagle Vines Vineyard amp; Golf Club was designed by local hero and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame Johnny Miller. Oak trees, vineyards, creeks and other natural beauties make this par 72 course a challenge. There are four tee boxes. Most golfers will agree that the biggest challenge is hole #6, a par three where you hit onto a floating island. The website has pictures of all eighteen holes with yardage. It is really fun to view the entire course prior to heading out for the round. The Pro Shop offers a wonderful assortment of golf clothes and accessories. The Grill Restaurant is the largest of the Napa golf courses dining rooms with large windows over looking the course and grape vines cascading the hills surrounding the course. Chef Yoshi is the Mustard Festival People's Choice winner for his "Prawn Maki" appetizer. A visit to the golf course Grill is a treat in itself. The hours for the grill are 7:00 AM to 8:00 PM daily..
Chardonnay Golf Club, is a semi private 18 hole facility, also located in the town of American Canyon. The challenging course meanders through close to 150 acres of merlot and chardonnay vines. It is sometimes hard to concentrate on your game with the beautiful scenery that surrounds you as you move from hole to hole. The par 72 course features 5 Tee Boxes, all of them offering the golfer a real challenge. I would not recommend that you walk this course as its hilly amp; long. The full serve facility features an assortment of lessons from PGA instructors and a practice facility. Rates vary depending on the season, time of day, and the day of the week. The information online is easy to navigate in order to secure a Tee time.
The View restaurant is appropriately named after the picturesque scenery diners can enjoy during their meal. Chardonnay Golf Club has facilities for group parties, weddings, and banquets. The staff is helpful and willing to go the extra mile to insure your event is perfect.
