Mickey Rooney Not Andy Rooney Granted a Restraining Order from Stepson
Recently I wrote an article for Y!CN titled 'Mickey Rooney Granted Temporary Restraining Order'. Unfortunately I typed in Andy instead of Mickey in the title. Before I could fix my mistake Andy Rooney's daughter was calling me an idiot.
Watching the news and entertainment reports unfold on the alleged abuse, one can not tell if the abuse was taking place or was only in the mind of the 91 year old actor. The red flag for me came when Rooney's wife of thirty + years admitted on camera that, "yes there is a padlock on our refrigerator, but that was because we have had housekeepers that took food". Jan Rooney quickly added, "Not the housekeeper we have now".
I found that information interesting on several different levels so I wrote the story. My mistake came when in my haste and fatigue ( 11 p.m. ) I typed in the name Andy instead of Mickey in the title. I posted my story added a link on my facebook page and retired for the night.
The next morning there were messages on facebook telling me it was Mickey not Andy in the picture with the story. OMG! Quickly I raced to Y! CN and changed the title. Whew, I told my husband, it's early and only 17 people read the story overnight; it should be okay.
Wrong... as I did a web search I came across a site called Zimbo that had re- published my article with the original title. If that wasn't embarrassing enough, Martha Rooney Fishel, Andy's daughter left a comment that read, "This idiot-someone named Jackie Hardin is confused between Mickey and Andy (Rooney). Apparently Mickey's stepson has been abusing him - Andy, of course doesn't have a step son..."
Red faced I typed off an apology, "Mickey, Mickey, Mickey. I was tired and typed in Andy instead of Mickey. I do know the difference and am a big fan of Andy Rooney. Yes, Martha, I am an idiot. Forgive me".
So it goes. I really do know the difference between Andy and Mickey and am off to write an article listing the differences.
