Myrtle Beach's Expensive Golf Courses
Myrtle Beach is known for many things. From the Sun Fun Festival that kicks off the summer each and every year to the South Carolina shag, Myrtle Beach is the leader in good times on the eastern seaboard.
Myrtlewood is simply one of the best courses in the area. Located just up the road from the city of Myrtle Beach in North Myrtle Beach, it is a top notch golf club. The par-72 design comes from Arthur Hills, who has some other courses in the area. It is another one of the many golf courses that makes its home on the banks of South Carolina's Intercoastal Waterway. As one of the longest courses in all of the Myrtle Beach area, this course is sure to present a challenge to even the most gifted golfer. Be sure to enjoy a packed cooler that comes complimentary when you play the course at Myrtlewood.
Pine Lakes Country Club is an interesting course in that it allows visitors the ability to play a course that would otherwise be private. This course could be described as semi-private and when they are not booked full, they do allow guests to hit the links. This is the oldest golf course in the entire Myrtle Beach region as its 1920 establishment marks a time when Myrtle Beach was not the tourism capital it is today. People love to play this course because it feels like you are walking straight through history and hitting shots onto greens that are a little bit more meaningful than they normally would be. This course has been mentioned time and again in Sports Illustrated magazine as one of the best courses in the area. As such, it has much to offer. The traditional Scottish feel is unlike anything else in the Myrtle Beach area. At Pine Lakes, they do it their own special way. While at the turn, expect to chow down on some Low Country Stew and a mimosa. The Pine Lake experience is about the golf, but it is so much more.
With Myrtlewood and Pine Lakes Country Club, you can play two of the best courses in the entire nation. They are traditional clubs with high price tags, but for the golf enthusiast, they are must play golf courses.
