Adventure Landing
Jacksonville Beach is home to lots of sand and sun, but also a small amusement type park. With things like laser tag and mini golf, this might seem like a good place for the family.
This location is very close to the beach itself which makes it really convenient for those also wanting some sand and sun before or after enjoying some family play time at Adventure Landing.
There are lots of small attractions here for the entire family. You can stay and do 1 or 2 activities or spend the entire day, even having lunch, and do everything they offer.
They also have a water park, but for the contents of this article, I am only going to write about the attractions that are open year round.
One of the busiest attractions there is there go kart track.
Single rider karts are $7.25 per ride, while a double seater is $9.25. Since smaller children are not allowed to drive the karts, if you buy the double seating kart ticket, you can spend some extra time with your kids and have fun at the same time. My husband and son went on the karts and they had a blast. The ride is short and the track is pretty simple, but as far as I know, this might be the only track in the city. The only downside is that there is little to no shade at all, so during the summer months make sure to bring sunglasses as it is really bright here! They do have some bleachers for spectators, but they are in full sun as well, so wear sunscreen!
They also have 2 small carnival type rides for younger children as well. These rides are $3 and $4. I don't really know if this is worth it. When we went, there was no one even there operating the rides! Maybe we went on a slow day, or perhaps it was just too hot.
They also have mini golf on site with 2 courses. Both courses have 18 holes and it is actually pretty fun, especially during cooler months. One ticker is $7.25, while playing 2 games is just $8.25. I do not understand why playing 2 games is just one dollar more, but if you plan on playing golf, you might as well stay and play 2 games.
They also have an indoor game area with tons of arcade games. These are kind of pricey, with some taking more than 1 token. The inside is air conditioned, and thus the busiest area during the hot summer afternoons.
They also have a place to buy different types of food, including snacks like funnel cakes and nachos and also lunch and dinner items like hamburgers and pizza.
I do not think I would plan on eating there during busy lunch hours, like the early afternoon, because it is loud and tons of kids running around this area.
The good news is that you can bring in bottled water and bring a picnic lunch. Even though you cannot bring coolers into the actual building, but you can always sit in the large grassy parking areas and have a quick bite to eat.
Laser tag is available inside as well for $7.25 per person, per game.
They also offer a combination ticket per guest. For $16.99 you can pick 3 attractions to do. This can save money and give every member of your family a certain number of things to do. Everyone can play a round of mini golf, and then do 2 separate things.
We do like Adventure Landing, but find it really busy and a lot of parents do not seem to watch their children too closely. If you are bringing your entire family, it is best to try to stick together or find a common meeting place at a certain time to ensure you can find them! With so many people running around, you can often kind of get lost in the crowd.
While Adventure Landing is fun, it is kind of expensive, but Jacksonville really doesn't offer a whole lot of activities like this even though it's a huge metro city. With very little attractions, this place becomes a hot spot for a lot of people during the weekend, summer, and school vacation days.
