Susan Boyle Hospitalized After Finale Performance Defeat

The story of Susan Boyle took another less than fairy tale like turn, after reports that she got herself hospitalized for exhaustion after losing "Britain's Got Talent" Now concerns are even greater about how well Boyle can cope with superstardom.

Boyle's finale performance was not quite enough to win Britain's Got Talent, thanks to the dancing troupe Diversity. But the main reason Britain's Got Talent got such a big audience for the finale was Boyle, who made the show into a must-see as the phenomenon of the world.

Boyle said all the right things after her final performance of her famed "I Dreamed A Dream" cover did not win. But according to Britain's Got Talent judge Piers Morgan, Boyle had to get herself hospitalized for exhaustion after the show went off the air.

Boyle's exhaustion was evident to many before getting hospitalized due to the long wait for the finale performance, the pressures of newfound fame, and gossip columns accusing her of having meltdowns. The week before, Boyle was accused of a few cursing rants after her semifinal performance, and the rumors continued after her finale performance.

The Daily Mail website alleges that Boyle went off declaring her hate for Britain's Got Talent after her defeat. She is also rumored to have sworn again, and to have blown off those who tried to calm her down. After that, Boyle allegedly checked herself into being hospitalized at the Priory clinic.

Susan Boyle's finale performance defeat and her hospitalization is leaving another uncomfortable asterisk on what was once the most beloved fairy tale story of the entertainment season. Now, it has become another part of the ongoing debate on how much fame is too much, how the pressures of stardom can take a negative toll, and what can happen when stars aren't left alone.

Like in the aftermath of her semifinal performance, Piers Morgan stood up to defend Boyle's behavior and ordeals, saying she needs to get away for a while. Health wise, and career wise, that is likely the absolute best thing Boyle can do.

After the fame and backlash wear off from Boyle's Britain's Got Talent performances, and after she can get a clearer head, Susan Boyle can come back to start a new phase in her career and have a clean slate, if she so chooses.
