Feed Live Alligators at Congo River Miniature Golf in Daytona Beach, Florida
Congo River Miniature Golf in Daytona Beach, Florida offers something for all family members to enjoy. Play a game of mini golf, feed the alligators, mine for gems, play games or just sit in the patio area and watch.
A fenced alligator pit containing several small alligators greets visitors at the entrance of Congo River miniature golf. A look down into the pit will be met with the beady little eyes of alligators looking back, greedily awaiting food. A small plastic bag of alligator food can be purchased for $3 at the entrance hut and the bag will contain a few slices of hot dog. Short poles with an attached string and a clip on the end of the string are located beside the alligator pit for use to deliver the food to the alligators. The alligators will vie for the food, making it fun to watch even for the visitors around the pit who are not feeding the alligators.
The price is $11.95 per person to play an 18 hole round of miniature golf on a course that has twist and turns, ups and downs and keeps with the theme of being stranded in the Congo River jungle. Replicas of a wrecked plane, wrecked jeep and wrecked ship are part of the golf course's décor. On the back of the golf score card is an exploration game that can be played during a round of mini golf. While progressing along the golf course, players are looking for certain things, if all those things are found in the correct order, a prize is won when returning the golf clubs. The prizes my group received were scratch off cards which yielded $1 off the next round of mini golf and $1 of a bag alligator food.
At the end of the golf course is a outdoor patio that contains a few picnic tables and a snack bar. The snack bar was not open during our visit to Congo River, but a beverage vending machine is located in the patio area and also another one directly on the mini golf course.
The gem mine is also located in the patio area, just outside the indoor arcade. A short water shoot and a small fee allows visitors to mine for gems. The indoor arcade houses a few games for visitors to play.
