Keeping Records in the Homeschool Tracker Program

In this guide I will show you how to keep records in your Homeschool Tracker program. In this guide I will show you how to keep a journal, how to keep attendance, how to create lesson plans, how to record your reading logs, and how to record your field trips.

How to Keep a Journal in Homeschool Tracker

First, I will show you how to keep a daily journal in Homeschool Tracker. You will see a row of tabs at the top of your program. Click on the Daily Journal Tab. Click your moue inside the white part of the window and begin typing your journal for today. The calendar at the top will be on today's date. If you need to add a journal entry for another day, click on the date on the calendar. Then type your journal entry in the white window. Click the Save Changes button once you are done.

How to Keep Attendance Records in Homeschool Tracker

Keeping attendance records in homeschool tracker is very easy. Click on your Attendance Tab at the top of your program. This will pull a calendar up in your window. Simply click your mouse on today's date for present. If you didn't have school, click on the date twice and it will say sick on that day. If you have more than one child homeschooling, drop the box down at the top and select the name of the child that you are doing attendance records for.

How to Create Lesson Plans in Homeschool Tracker

Click on the Assignments Tab at the top of your window. Drop the Sudent Box down and select the name of the student that you are creating the lessons for. Then drop the box down and select the subject for the lesson. Then click the Add New button. Go through the Add Assignment window and fill in the fields. The fields are pretty self explanatory. Once you have filled in the fields, click the Save Button to save your entry. You can create more lessons by repeating the steps above.

How to Record Reading Logs in Homeschool Tracker

Reading Logs are an important part of homeschooling. You can easily record what you read in the Homeschool Tracker program. Click on the Reading Log at the top of your program. Drop the Student box down at the top and select the student's name. Then click the Add New button. When the Add Reading Log Entry box comes up, click the little plus/minus button beside the top box. When that window opens, enter the name of the book in the first field, select Book for the second field, author's name in the next field, and then click the Save button. You will be carried back to the first box. Enter the start date and if you have finished the book, click the Finished box. Then click the Save button.

How to Record Field Trips in Homeschool Tracker

Click on the Field Trips Tab at the top of your window. Click the Add New button. When the window pops up, fill in the fields. The fields are pretty self explanatory. When you are finished, click the Save Button. That will add your field trip to your records.

You can also print any of your records quickly and easily. Click on the Reports Tab in your window. Then select what you want to print from the list. Then click the Print Button. That is how easy it is.
