Guide to Bur-mil Park
Bur-mil park is Greensboro's fun-in-the-sun water park with an affordable price tag. Here is your guide to free hiking trails, reasonable golf rates, and inexpensive water fun!
Water Park
Hours:
Monday - Friday 11am - 6pm
Saturday amp; Sunday 10am - 6pm
*Rainchecks available.
Admission:
Adults (13 up;) $4
Children 2-13 $3
Children under 2 are free!
Wednesdays after 6pm is Family Night $2.50 for each person over 2 years old.
Summer passes:
Adults $70
Children (3-12) $50
**Family passes are available. For a family of four or fewer, family pass is $150 and $30 for each additional person.
As far as fun goes, the water park at Bur-mil Park is wonderful! They accomodate parties (see info at the end of this section), have two diving boards over 12' of water and every hour, they host a 10 minute Adult-only swim time, so you don't have to compete for space from the teens and kids. The children's area is filled with fountains, waterfalls, slides, and a whirl pool!
The park has several lifeguards on duty, watching your child's every move!
There are a limited number of lifevests available and parents are permitted to bring their own safety devices (must be U.S. Coast Guard approved, available at Walmart, Target, Kmart, and sporting goods stores).
The park has sufficient seating and oversized umbrellas for shade. There is a Chick-fil-A and a B B; Hotdog stand onsite, bathrooms, changing rooms, and a smoking area located right outside the gate.
The children will have so much fun (and probably go to sleep early that night) and you will be able to enjoy taking some wonderful pictures to fill up those summer memory scrapbooks!
Parties:
Everyone likes a pool party! Bur-mil is very accomodating for parties and your are guaranteed to have some great fun! I definitely recommend hiring 1 lifeguard per 6 kids, so the adults can have some fun and not be so paranoid with constant head counts (you still have to watch the kids, but you'll have more help).
I love Bur-mil Park's water park. You will find me there at least a couple times a week during the summer and I like to host at least one party during their after-hours party schedule. The more people the better since it's $175 whether there are 2 people, 20 people, or more! Great for birthday parties, or just some exclusive fun with friends!
Availability:
May 29-July 11 parties are available 7-9pm Thursday - Sunday
July12- August 29th parties are available 7-9pm Thursday - Tuesday
Fees are $175 for a two hour party, plus $15/hour per life guard.
Hiking trails
There are three hiking/mountain biking trails available for all athletic levels. Enjoy the Big Loop for experienced bikers and hikers, the Little Loop is great for a stimulating nature walk and intermediate bikers and hikers, and the Owl's Roost Trail is ideal for unexperienced bikers and hikers and those that enjoy taking nature pictures or nature walks with the kids.
Bikes are available for trailing.
Golf
The golf course at Bur-mil park is ideal for first-time golfers. The level of difficulty is low, so it is not ideal for experienced or even intermediate golfers.
